Parallels Desktop for Mac lets you switch back and forth between Mac OS X and fullscreen Windows XP with a simple keystroke. Or run Windows inside a window right on your Macintosh desktop. Now Mac users can run important applications available only for Windows – programs like Microsoft Project, Access, Money, Act!, Goldmine, Internet Explorer and more. Unlike Boot Camp, which requires the user to restart his Mac, Parallels Desktop for Mac runs Windows simultaneously with Mac OS X. As Walt Mossberg of the Wall Street Journal put it, “It’s like having two computers in one, the best of both worlds.”

    System Requirements

  • Intel Macintosh running OS X 10.4.6 or later with a minimum of 512 MB RAM (1 GB RAM recommended) and 30 MB hard drive space for Parallels Desktop installation, plus space to allocate to your virtual machine.
  • Requires one of the following: Windows XP, NT, 2000, Me, 98, 95, 3.11 or 3.1; any Linux distribution; FreeBSD; Solaris; OS/2; eComStation; and MS-DOS.
