Power Mac G5 (Late 2005 Dual 2.0 GHz) and Power Mac G5 (Late2005 Dual 2.3 GHz) computers may use either the 710 W power supply (661-3737) or the 1 KW power supply (661-3738).

Power Mac G5 (Late2005 Quad) computers must use the 1 KW power supply (661-3738).

You can also check your EEE code on your Power Supply. To be sure you are ordering the correct replacement part for your computer, make sure the EEE code of your existing Power Supply corresponds to one of the EEE codes listed below in notes.

EEE Code Note: All Apple Power Supplys have a special three digit "EEE" code embedded in the Power Supply serial number which positively identifies the part. Please note that this is the serial number of the Power Supply, NOT the serial number of the machine. The Power Supply serial number is on a tag which has the format "xxxxxxxEEEx". The "EEE" code is the three letters immediately preceding the last digit of the serial number.
