Description
Grappler 940UW SCSI Card (PCI) The Grappler is for desktop user who need to connect multiple SCSI peripherals such as fast disk drives, scanners, Jaz and Zip drives.

It is based on SCSI-3 technology and will allow users to connect up to seven devices The Grappler SCSI 940UW is the top of the line SCSI card for Orange Micro boasting pipeline data at 40MB/sec for up to 15 SCSI daisy-chained peripherals, that's eight times faster than Apple's original built-in SCSI port.

Customers for this Ultra Wide SCSI-3 interface are expected to be users of high performance internal disk drives (7,200 or 10,000 RPM) or sizeable external disk arrays (e.g. RAID configurations) Based on benchmarks run by the National Software Testing Laboratories (NSTL of Conshohocken, PA) using three fast 10,000 RPM hard drives in a striped array, the Grappler SCSI proprietary RISC processor designed card outpaced the Adaptec 2940UW by 24% in overall composite performance.

The Grappler 940UW SCSI card will allow users to boot from external SCSI devices Has 1 external 68 pin SCSI III, 1 internal 68 pin SCSI III and 1 internal 50-Pin SCSI connector.
