Description
The Power Macintosh G5/2.3 DP (PCI-X) features dual 2.3 GHz PowerPC 970fx (G5) processors each with an optimized AltiVec "Velocity Engine" vector processing unit and 512k level 2 on-chip cache. It shipped configured with 512 MB of 400 MHz PC3200 DDR SDRAM, a 250.0 GB (7200 RPM) Serial ATA hard drive, a 16X DVD+R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW "SuperDrive", and an ATI Radeon 9600 (AGP 8X Pro) video card with 128 MB of DDR SDRAM.
Connectivity includes USB 2.0, FireWire "400" and "800", two single-link DVI ports (no ADC port), optical digital audio in/out, and support for AirPort Extreme (802.11g) and Bluetooth 1.1. This model includes support for PCI-X.
The Power Macintosh G5/2.3 DP (PCI-X) uses "anodized aluminum alloy" case divided into four different thermal zones with nine computer-controlled fans for optimum cooling, and features a removable side panel for easy access to internal components.

What software is installed on the system?

The pre owned machines will ship with the original OS that came on the machine when it was first introduced or higher. Pre-Owned machines could ship with either OS 9.1 up to a version of Mac OS X depending on model. If you require a different OS please order from here.
Where can I download the Apple Firmware for this machine?
This model uses Open Firmware.
