How to get good wireless signals by reducing interference ?

Here are a few things that can be done to avoid interference:
  • Don't use 2.4 GHz cordless phones. You can use 900 MHz or 5.8 GHz cordless phones instead.
  • Turn on "Interference Robustness" in the AirPort menu in OS X (with cards that use Apple's AirPort drivers such as our 11g PC Card.
  • Get line-of-site as much as possible between wireless devices. That is, place your access point (base station/wireless router) and your wireless cards so that there as few walls, desks and other obstacles between them as possible. It is generally a very good improvement to get the card or access point close to the ceiling to avoid floor level obstacles such as chairs, desks and humans. This can be more easily done by using our Power over Ethernet technology to get the whole access point up high.
